Reduce the size of your SVG files online without changing their format or dimensions. The code is cleaned up (comments, metadata, editor data) and coordinates are rounded. Free, no account, no software.
Niveau de compression
PNG : « Léger » optimise sans perte ; « Recommandé » et « Fort » réduisent le nombre de couleurs (transparence conservée) pour un fichier bien plus léger.

Why compress your SVGs here?
100% free
No fees, no subscription, no watermark. Compress as many SVG files as you like.
No sign-up
No account to create, no email, no login required: upload the SVG and get it back lighter.
Processed on your device
The file is compressed right in your browser: it is not sent over the internet. If your browser can’t handle it (very large file, older browser), it is compressed on our server over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), in memory, and never saved.
Still vector
The file stays an SVG: it scales without losing sharpness and keeps its dimensions and appearance. It is never heavier than the original. Works on computers and phones (iPhone and Android).
How to compress an SVG?
1
Upload your SVG
Drag and drop your SVG file (logo, icon, illustration) into the upload area, or click to choose it.
2
Choose the level
Light cleans up and rewrites the code without changing the drawing; Recommended also rounds coordinates to the drawing’s scale and replaces nearly straight curves with lines; Strong simplifies a little more, for the smallest file.
3
Download the lighter SVG
Click “Compress and download”: the compressed SVG is saved to your device, with the size reduction shown.
Frequently asked questions
How do I reduce an SVG file’s size?
Upload the SVG and choose a level: comments, metadata, data added by design software (Inkscape, Illustrator, Sketch, Figma…) and unnecessary whitespace are removed, then, at Recommended and Strong, coordinates are rounded. Paths are also rewritten more compactly (for example, a scale or offset applied to a group is built directly into the coordinates).
Does the drawing change?
At Light, no: only unnecessary code is removed. At Recommended and Strong, rounding coordinates is invisible for a logo or icon at normal size; for a very small drawing blown up to an extreme size, Light remains the safest choice.
Which level should I choose?
Recommended suits most SVGs: logos, icons, illustrations for a website. Light keeps the exact coordinates, Strong gives the smallest file.
Can I still edit the SVG?
Yes. It is still a standard SVG that opens in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma or a browser. Only data specific to the original software (Inkscape or Illustrator settings and information, for example) is removed.
Is the SVG compressor really free?
Yes, completely. No fees, no subscription, no watermark and no sign-up: you don’t need to create an account or log in.
Are my SVG files kept private?
Yes. In most cases, the file is compressed directly on your device, in the browser, and is never sent. Otherwise (very large file, older browser), it goes over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), is compressed in memory on our server and sent straight back: it is never saved, nobody looks at it, and it is never shared or reused.
Why compress an SVG for a website?
A lighter SVG loads faster, which makes pages quicker, especially on phones, and improves their performance score. SVGs exported from design software often contain a lot of unnecessary code.
